Student teaching at Rich South High School in Richton Park, Illinois helped me see that there are no bounds to what children can be taught; to what they can learn. The photography program was new, and I helped pioneer the first photo students from the school to win regional awards through South Suburban. In 2012, I created the Photography Program at Aurora Central Catholic High School in Aurora, Illinois. Using an old science lab, I transformed a stagnant space into a studio that produced award-winning photographs. In the first year of the program, one of my students was recognized nationally with a Silver Medal in the National Scholastic Art & Writing Awards; this was the first time the school had been recognized nationally for any type of achievement. Two years later, another student reigned supreme earning a National Gold Medal through the same awards. There are no bounds
